Impression
A magnificent hotel situated on a real Amsterdam canal. From the moment you arrive you feel comfortable here, and it is immediately clear that this is a real five-star hotel. The porters are waiting for you outside and show you into the hotel’s warm and pleasant atmosphere.
reception
We received a very warm welcome. The porter takes you to the reception and while you are checking in he makes sure your luggage is taken to your room so you can start unpacking the moment you enter the door. At your request, they will also give you a tour of the hotel, which in fact consists of several connected canal-side houses. As a guest, you will not be inconvenienced by this unique fact, although some of the corridors are a bit long.
public areas
The public areas are excellent. Everywhere from the lounge to the garden there are nice places where you can sit and relax, and service is always available. We would especially like to recommend the hotel’s traditional Amsterdam-style bar. We also recommend the hotel’s nice restaurant, because it is not only a pleasure to eat here but also just to be here.
rooms
There is a great variety of rooms, which clearly shows that this is an old building. The more expensive rooms have a view of the canals. This is certainly worth the extra money, even though you are not just paying for the view but also for the extra luxuries these rooms have. The rooms that look out on the inner court are also very nice.
halls
The hotel has a small room adjacent to the garden. This room is quite nice for meetings or parties, but we would advise you to keep it small or organize it during the summer so you can also make use of the garden. The hotel also has several other small conference rooms that are fitted out with all modern conveniences.
situation
The location is excellent and you will surely experience the real Amsterdam feeling here. Everything is within reach and most of the best places to visit are within walking distance. The only downside is that the hotel has very limited parking facilities, which could pose a problem considering Amsterdam’s parking problems.
