Impression
The building gives a poor impression. The building is very old and was the Intercontinental hotel before. It stands on top of a mountain, but doesn’t give the impression of a five star hotel.
reception
Our reception was horrible! They don’t like it when you park your car just a bit out of place. Worse, there are people, like the bellboy, who tries to imitate you in his own language. We are not a bit enthusiastic about the reception.
public areas
The hotel has got a few public areas. The lobby is broad with a nice sitting corner, which has a bar. The swimming pool is a way to relax, just like the small fitness room. The hotel has got a few nice bars, although it must be said that they are a bit old fashioned. The decoration should be updated a bit, except for the rooms that have been updated in 2003.
rooms
The rooms that have been decorated not long ago look good. They have become real Hilton rooms. However, the bathrooms haven’t been updated because of the first things first policy. That's the hotels management. The rooms are coloured light with dark wood and have all the things you need.
halls
The halls are a minor point. The hotel has got a big hall, but too small for a hotel like this, a hundred people will fit in though. The hotel has got a few small conference halls that are decorated very nice with dark wood. Just be prepared for the Hilton poster gallery in the corridors between the halls.
situation
The situation on top of a mountain is great, but the trees that grow on the mountain have taken the view away. The hotel is far from the centre of Luxembourg city. There are no trains or trams near, so you must travel by taxi, bus or car. This is a minor too about this hotel.
