Our first impression was WOW, what a beautiful new hotel in the Netherlands. It can come across a bit cold, but that is mainly because it is so big. The hotel was delivered in 2003, so it is quite new. It is a nice, big American style hotel, built for people who want to stay close to the airport ‘Schiphol’.

reception
Our reception was wonderful. This was also due to the personnel’s great motivation to work in this new hotel. The personnel provides you immediately with the service you desire and for such an enormous hotel this is quite an achievement.

public areas
The public rooms are designed fashionably and there are magnificent flatscreen panels on the walls which display movies. The restaurant is also fantastic and is open 24 hours per day. That is also the beautiful thing about this hotel… the whole hotel is focused on 24 hour service, so every guest can decide for him or herself to decide when it is day or night.

rooms
The rooms are magnificent and very modernly furnished. Everything has been thought of in the rooms and therefore also that 24 hour service rule. For example every room has a sliding door in the corridor so if desired, absolutely no sound can enter or leave the room. Furthermore every room can be darkened completely during the day. The rooms truly are more than terrific.

halls
The conference rooms are large, modern and contain everything you need. There are no handwritten signs, which tell the guests which group go’s to which room. No… everything is nice and electronic. The hotel is also suited for larger groups. A group of 500 easily fits into one of the conference rooms.

situation
The location is nice although you need to be transported from the arrival or departure hall to the hotel by taxi or bus. The hotel is close to the ‘Amsterdamse Bos’ (Amsterdam forest) and the most important highways. In case you would like to see Amsterdam in a couple of hours you can use a unique service. The hotel possesses its own Smarts which you can use on payment of a fee.
