A nice hotel to spend the night near Schiphol Airport. Or for spending the night when you’re on the road. This is a very big hotel along a provincial road and near Schiphol. The hotel was originally build for travellers from Schiphol airport, but Schiphol is so large now that on its grounds the formidable competition Sheraton and Hilton are situated. The latter two are however five star hotels, which can’t be said about the Crown Plaza.

reception
The reception is fine, but you don’t get the feeling of being in a five star hotel. It can be noticed that this hotel is one of an intercontinental group under which the Holiday inn falls too. Unfortunately this left its mark on the hotel and you get a cheap feeling.

public areas
The public areas are nice but not very impressive. The lobby, which isn’t really a lobby, has only got a few chairs. The restaurant/bar is not decorated very nice either. You will find chairs in all the thinkable colours and the sitting comfort is not very well. They surely don’t have any taste.

rooms
The rooms give you the same Holiday inn feeling as the rest of the hotel. They have everything what a five star hotel room needs, but you don’t want to pay the price of a five star hotel. You should consider this when you are a traveller, because there are more possibilities for a Schiphol traveller in the area.

halls
The hotel has got one hall that’s used for breakfast, conferences as well as parties. For the smaller groups this is very nice, but why should you go and have a party in a hotel in such a distant hotel?

situation
The situation is great when you have an appointment in one of the office buildings in Hoofddorp. Or if you want to sleep in a Holiday inn hotel for the price of a five star hotel. There are of course shuttle busses from and to Shiphol Airport and you can find trains and busses not far from the hotel, but this doesn’t really give you a special feeling.
