Impression
A large and cumbersome building in the center of Amsterdam right across the street from the popular entertainment center Leidseplein. Although the hotel is very hard to reach by car and it is difficult to find a parking space, this should not stop you from visiting this hotel, because the last few years a lot of work has been done on the NH hotels and this clearly shows.
reception
We met with a warm reception, although it was nothing spectacular. Unfortunately, you have to carry your own luggage and you also have to park your own car, which is rather problematic in Amsterdam. These are two rather serious drawbacks.
public areas
The public areas are decent. The lounge is nice and the bar gives it a finishing touch. The adjacent restaurant is also nice, but not sensational.
rooms
The rooms are very nice and really something different. You feel as if you are walking into a home, with a beautiful new parquet floor and a warm and modern Spanish interior. The hotel even hired an interior decorator to give them a beautiful contemporary design. The corridors and rooms look truly amazing.
halls
The hotel has one small room that is divided into two even smaller rooms by a wall. They are alright for business meetings but not suitable for conferences or parties, for which you will unfortunately have to look for a different hotel.
situation
The location is excellent if you want to visit the city. The hotel is very close to the Vondelpark and the well-known expensive shopping street PC Hooftstraat, and both public transport and a bustling nightlife are at your feet. All in all, this is a nice hotel to spend the night some time.
